VJ‑XY by thinkthx respects your privacy.

your data stays on your device. VJ‑XY has no accounts, no cloud sync, no servers, and no tracking. we do not collect, access, sell, or share any personal data.

1. overview

VJ‑XY is a live visual instrument. it is designed to run entirely on your device. there are no user accounts, no login, no analytics SDKs, and no remote services that hold your content or activity.

2. content you import

you can import videos and photos from your device's media library into VJ‑XY for use as clips and matrix content. this content remains on your device. it is not uploaded, copied to a server, or transmitted anywhere by VJ‑XY.

custom vfx presets, clip arrangements, scene mappings, and app settings are stored locally on your device.

3. permissions

VJ‑XY requests the following device permissions only as needed for the features you use:

you can review or change these permissions at any time in iOS or iPadOS settings, or macOS system settings.

4. MIDI and external displays

VJ‑XY communicates with MIDI controllers over USB‑C, Bluetooth, or another local transport, and can output video to an external display over USB‑C or HDMI. these are local connections between your device and your hardware. no MIDI data, no clip content, and no performance data leaves your device.

5. cloud and sync

VJ‑XY does not use iCloud or any other cloud service to sync your content. imported media stays in your device's Photos library where you imported it from. app data (presets, scenes, settings) is held on the device VJ‑XY is installed on.

6. analytics, tracking, and advertising

the VJ‑XY app does not use any analytics, advertising, or cross‑site tracking SDKs.

Apple may provide developers with optional, aggregated diagnostics such as crash reports and performance information depending on your device settings. you can control these in iOS or iPadOS under settings → privacy & security → analytics & improvements (including "share with app developers"), and on macOS in system settings → privacy & security → analytics & improvements.

the VJ‑XY website currently does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising tools. if we introduce privacy‑friendly site analytics, a newsletter signup form, or similar tools in the future, this page will be updated and the providers named here.

7. data sharing

we do not sell, rent, or share personal data. we have no data to share — VJ‑XY does not collect any.

8. data retention and deletion

imported media remains in your device's Photos library until you remove it from there. presets, scenes, and settings created in VJ‑XY remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.

9. security

your data is protected by your device's operating system security. Apple documents iOS, iPadOS, and macOS security at a platform level.

10. children

VJ‑XY is a creative tool and is not directed at children under 13. we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

11. changes to this policy

we may update this privacy policy from time to time. the latest version will be published on this page.
