terms of use
VJ‑XY by thinkthx is a live visual instrument licensed for personal and creative use, including live performance and content creation. by using the app, you agree to these terms. the laws of Australia apply.

1. acceptance of terms
by downloading or using VJ‑XY, you agree to these terms of use. if you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. license to use
VJ‑XY and all related intellectual property — including design, code, vfx presets and templates supplied with the app, icons, and branding — are owned by thinkthx.
you are granted a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable licence to use the app for personal and creative purposes, including live performance, recorded performance, and content creation.
you may not copy, modify, reverse‑engineer, sell, rent, lease, redistribute, sublicense, or create derivative works from the app, except to the extent permitted by law.
apps from the App Store are licensed, not sold. your use may also be subject to Apple's standard EULA unless you are shown a custom EULA.
3. your content
you retain all rights to videos, photos, and any other media you import into VJ‑XY. you are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to use that content, including for any public performance, broadcast, recording, or distribution.
thinkthx does not claim ownership of your imported media and does not access, copy, or transmit it.
4. payments
VJ‑XY is a one‑time purchase. there are no subscriptions.
payment is processed by Apple through your Apple Account. any refund requests must be made directly through Apple via Report a Problem.
5. your responsibilities
you agree not to:
- use the app for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose;
- attempt to interfere with the app's operation, integrity, or security;
- misuse the app in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it;
- use the app to display content you do not have the right to use.
you are responsible for testing VJ‑XY in your performance setup, including MIDI connections, external displays, and any hardware involved, before relying on it in a live context.
6. disclaimers
VJ‑XY is a creative tool. it is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law.
we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or compatible with every combination of device, MIDI controller, cable, display, or operating system version. you are responsible for verifying your setup before use, particularly for live performance.
7. data and devices
VJ‑XY is designed so your content and settings stay on your device. we do not operate servers that store your content and we do not have access to your imported media, presets, or performance data. see our privacy policy for details.
8. limitation of liability
to the fullest extent permitted by law, thinkthx is not liable for any damages, losses, or consequences resulting from your use of VJ‑XY, including any failure during a live performance, loss of imported media, damage to connected hardware, or interruption of an external display output.
nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees or rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
9. termination
we may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you materially breach these terms. you may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.
10. governing law
these terms of use are governed by the laws of Australia. if you live outside Australia, you may also have rights under your local laws.
11. changes to terms
we may update these terms of use from time to time. updates will be posted on this page and/or within the app.
